Beginning photography

If you are feeling overwhelmed by your dslr camera but want to take better photos of your kiddos, this photography class is for you. I remember when my boys were small and I couldn’t get enough of their chubby cheeks, sweet baby toes, and baby giggles. I wanted to capture everything from the first smile to the first time down a slide. Inspiration is everywhere when you have littles in your life. I want to help you rock that camera and be able to capture your everyday moments.

I can help you demystify your dslr camera so you can better document your days. We will spend the afternoon getting to know your camera, learn how to get that yummy blurry background in your photos, stop action, how to shoot in all kinds of light (low, harsh, open shade) and some basics of composition.

Topics Covered:

Understanding exposure

How to use your camera in manual mode

What camera settings to use for your situation

What equipment to use in different situations

Quality of light and different types of light

1:1 Photography Mentoring for New Photographers

Are you ready to take your photography to the next level? If you are wanting to learn how to take better photos, learn more about what equipment is best for your needs, or just want to get out and practice, a one on one mentoring session is the perfect way to get individualized education.  We can meet at your home to work with your everyday light, or go to a park with your kids and practice getting better images of them, or even meet for a hike to learn more about taking landscape and nature photos.

I am passionate about photography and want to spread my knowledge to anyone that wants to learn more. I feel like many of us have a photographer inside, even if we’ve never picked up a camera before. There were periods in my life that I wasn’t actively shooting, but I still saw things through a lens, whether it was the light and shadows or composition. So if photography has ever been on your mind and you want to learn more, fill out the form below and I’ll get right back to you.
