The high school senior year is such a huge time in a young adult’s life. It is the beginning of the transition from being completely your parent’s child to standing on your own as an adult. The year is fast and furious - flying by with ‘lasts’ one after another. Your last dance, your last play, your last soccer game. Many times the friends you have had since kindergarten will be preparing to spread all over the country for their college careers.

Last spring I did a photo shoot for a young couple that wanted to document their prom. I documented them hanging out at one of their favorite spots before getting ready, putting on makeup, and getting dressed. We captured everything before they headed off for dinner and the dance. This session got me thinking. We do so much documenting when our children are young. First year photo packages are very popular, along with annual photo shoots until our babies are school-aged. So why not the Senior Year?

Imagine starting off your year with a short portrait shoot to get your last yearbook photo, then follow up with a series of sessions to document important events in your final year. Maybe documenting your final performance in a high school play, a Winter formal dance, hanging out with your bestie at your favorite coffee shop, then you in your cap and gown before your graduation ceremony. At the end of the year you would receive an album with highlights from your high school year to cherish the time forever.
